  • Reserve Citizen Airmen to keep full tuition assistance benefit

    Reductions to tuition assistance announced last week by the Department of the Air Force will not impact Reserve Citizen Airmen this fiscal year. The decrease in the military tuition assistance program (MilTA) from $4,500 to $3,750, affects only active-duty Airman. The $250 per semester hour and $166.66 per quarter hour allotment for Reserve Citizen Airmen will remain the same.

  • Going lean: 345th EBS wraps up Bomber Task Force Mission

    Go lean or go home. That was the strategy adopted by leadership of the 345th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron when the call went out in late July for B-1B Lancers to accomplish an emergent Bomber Task Force mission out of Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. The unit, based at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, took fewer than 60 Reserve and active-duty Airmen from the 307th Bomb Wing and 7th BW in support of the BTF.

It is the first time in recent memory the bomber has crossed directly over the North Pole.
