A Sons of the American Revolution member signs the memorial guestbook before an internment service for U.S. Army Air Force 2nd Lt. David M. Lewis, a pilot assigned to the 345th Bombardment Squadron (Heavy), at Old Saltillo Cemetery, Texas July 16, 2023. Lewis was killed in action August 1, 1943 while participating in Operation TIDAL WAVE, a bombing raid against the oil refineries around Ploiesti, Romania, during WWII.
