343rd Bomb Squadron is Spot On
Members of the 343rd Bomb Squadron stand by the B-52 Stratofortress just before competing in Global Strike Challenge 2017 at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., June 6, 2017. The air crew placed a bomb exactly on target during the competition, earning the Mitchell Award for most accurate munition drop. In comparison, the unit’s closest competitor during the competition placed its munition 15 feet from the intended target. Global Strike Challenge is the world's premier Bomber, Intercontinental Ballistic Missile, Helicopter Operations and Security Forces competition with units from Air Force Global Strike Command, Air Combat Command, Air Force Reserve Command and the Air National Guard.
