Defenders complete active shooter training
Defenders with the 307th Security Forces Squadron use an M-4 carbine while running through various scenarios during an active shooter exercise at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., May 31, 2017. The M-4 carbine is a variant of the M-16A2 assault rifle which uses a 5.56×45mm NATO round. During the training simulated paint rounds were used to provide defenders crucial live-fire training without the using lethal ammunition. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Jason McCasland)
