End of an era
Retired U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sergeant Robert Ahbol, 307th Force Support Squadron communications flight superintendent hugs one of his Airman after his retirement ceremony at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., February 11, 2017. Ahbol has been the unit’s communications flight superintendent since 2004. His impact on technology in the Air Force goes all the way back to 1999, when he was still an Aerospace Ground Equipment mechanic. In that year, he created a self-inspection database that was adopted service wide. The effort helped his unit at the time, the 917th Wing, win the Air Force Chief of Staff Team Excellence Award.
