Korean veterans honored
Veterans of the Battle of Chosin Reservoir enjoy the halftime show at the Camping World Independence Bowl just prior to taking the field to accept the Omar Bradley Spirit of Independence Award Dec. 26, 2016 in Shreveport, La. The Battle of Chosin Reservoir took place during the Korean conflict when communist forces tried to overwhelm American troops. Cutoff from other friendly forces and facing supply shortages and brutal cold, the Americans fought their way to safety. In the process, they inflicted heavy casualties on the enemy.
