Experimental Aircraft Association’s local chapter 343 hosts Young Eagles program
A future aviator gives a thumbs up before climbing into Retired Col. David Leedom’s aircraft for an incentive ride during the Young Eagles’ day at the Shreveport Downtown Airport in Louisiana, on April 16, 2016. The Young Eagles program is a national program that was launched in 1992 to give young people, ages 8-17, an opportunity to fly in a general aviation airplane. The youngsters learn about flight planning, flight safety and the basics of flying a general aviation aircraft. (U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt. Laura Siebert/Released)
