489th Bomb Group takes its first flight
And she’s off! On Oct. 18, 2015, the flag ship of the 489th Bomb Group takes off on her first flight after the reactivation of the Bomb Group from Dyess Air Force Base in Texas. The aircraft is a B-1 Lancer that carries nose art dedicated to the POW/MIAs of America’s wars. The 489th Bomb Group, Dyess, Texas is assigned to the 307th Bomb Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base, La.
