UTapao Alumni Association Nose Art Unveiling
The Lone Star Lady II nose art was unveiled on a B-52 Stratafortress, on May 1, 2015 in front of a group of 307th Bomb Wing Vietnam Veteran alumni at Barksdale Air Force Base, La. The nose art commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War and honors the veterans that served during that time. The original Lone Star Lady flew in the Linebacker II bombing raid in 1972 against targets in North Vietnam. She was operated by the 7th Bomb Wing at Carswell AFB, Texas, withdrawn from service on November 5, 1982 and is on display at Pima Air & Space Museum, adjacent to Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz.
