Exercise Polar Growl takes off
A U.S. Air Force pilot assigned to the 307th Bomb Wing looks out his window while he prepares to take off in support of Exercise “Polar Growl” on Barksdale Air Force Base, La. April 1, 2015. The B-52 Stratofortress aircraft will conduct simultaneous, long-range sorties from Barksdale to the Arctic and North Sea regions. These bomber missions strengthen aircrew capabilities by familiarizing them with operations in these regions. (U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt. Dachelle Melville/Released)
