Chaplain Candidates visit Barksdale

U.S. Air Force Chaplain Candidate 2nd Lt.Vincent Gillmore is all smiles as a member of the 2nd Bomb Wing explosive ordinance disposal unit fits him with a protective helmet at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Aug. 2, 2013. EOD members let the chaplain candidates try on the helmet and 90 pound protective suit that goes with it. Such experiences help the candidates have greater understanding of the stressors and strains faced by EOD members. Beyond the physical hardships, the EOD members also face mental stress in their dangerous occupation. Gaining insight into these issues and others facing EOD members was the reason the candidates visited the unit. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Ted Daigle/Released)
