Byrd students sought for international competition
Petr Zlatohlávek, Executive Director of the NATO Information Center in Prague, addresses an Advanced Placement American History class at Byrd High School in Shreveport, La., Nov. 8, 2013. Zlatohlávek was part of a delegation from the Czech Republic at the school to discuss the possibilities of Byrd students’ future involvement in the Aliante international competition. The international student competition is for two-member teams of 15 to 19-year-old students. Its purpose is to raise the students’ awareness (knowledge) about history, geography, politics, international affairs and above all security issues and North Atlantic Alliance.
