917th Wing shines at Bomb Comp

Col. Edmund D. Walker, commander, 917th Wing, Barksdale Air Force Base, LA., accepts the Proud Shield II Best Bomb award on behalf of the winning B-52 crew from Lt. Gen. Robert J. Elder Jr., commander, 8th Air Force, Barksdale AFB, LA., during the Giant Sword II/Proud Shield II Bomb and Load Competition and Symposium awards ceremony March 4, 2009 at Hoban Hall at Barksdale. The winning crew consisted of Capt. Andrew Baird, aircraft commander, Lt. Col. Jeff Stogsdill co-pilot, Capt. Andrew Marshall, radar navigator, Lt. Col. Steve Smith, navigator and Lt. Col.
