Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program
Master Sgt. Harold Starkey, 917th Wing, deployment cycle support manager, works on coordinating plans for the 917th Wing’s first official Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program event from Barksdale AFB, La., June 3, 2009. The Department of Defense has directed each of the uniform services to develop a YRRP. The scheduled events will bring representatives from different types of organizations such as TRICARE, Military OneSource, financial planners and family counselors, to give information to the servicemembers and their families. Events will be scheduled before the servicemembers leave on deployment and after they return home. The YRRP also creates an avenue to focus on the family and help them in anyway. As the director of the 917th Wing’s YRRP, Sergeant Starkey will be directly involved with each deployed member from notification to completion and beyond. Any 917th Wing member who has deployed for over 90 days to a remote location and has not been contacted by Sergeant Starkey should contact him at DSN 781-9424/9022. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt.
