Honorary promotion for K-9 partner of 917th Airman
Ginny, Shreveport Fire Department’s only nationally Certified Man Trailer remains at attention as Capt. Randy McDonald, commander, and Capt. Victor Santana, deputy commander for cadets, Barksdale Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol, pin 2Lt bars on her vest at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., C.A.P. Headquarters July 6, 2009. Ginny beat the odds and returned to full duty after surgery for a ruptured disk that almost sidelined her career and her life. Master Sgt. Danny Fischer, 917th Maintenance Squadron, armament shop supervisor, who is also Ginny’s handler was on hand for the ceremony. Sergeant Fischer and Ginny are volunteers with the Shreveport Fire Department K-9 Search and Rescue Task Force. Capt.
