Fit to Fight: A team effort
Staff Sgt. Kirk Williams, 917th Communications Flight, communications system operator, gains his second wind to push out the last hundred yards with a sprint during his annual fitness test at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., July 12, 2009. The Air Force Fitness Test is designed to test the body composition, muscular strength/endurance and cardiovascular respiratory fitness of Airmen in the U.S. Air Force. As part of the “Fit to Fight” program, the Air Force adopted a more stringent physical fitness assessment; the new fitness program was established on January 1, 2004, and replaces the annual ergo-cycle test that Air Force used before.
