917th Airman builds warriors from ground up
Navy League Cadet Corps Recruit Christopher Leahy traverses a rope bridge more than 20 feet in the air to complete an exercise at the East Texas Medical Center/Behavioral Health Center in Tyler, Texas, August 15, 2009. He is a member of the TYLER JOINT FORCE Battalion of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets Corps based in Tyler, Texas. A number of NSCC/NLCC cadets spent the entire day completing exercises which will enable them to build trust in their fellow cadets for the future. Recruit Leahy was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, and now calls Texas home. The NLCC is for boys and girls, at least 11 but not yet 14 years old who are interested in the sea and ships, and the nation’s seagoing services. The Navy League program is designed to introduce young people to maritime and military life, and to prepare them for later entrance into the Naval Sea cadet Corps. (Courtesy photo)
