AFRC Commander visits Barksdale

Col. Robert Nordberg, commander, 917th Operations Group, shows Lt. Gen. Charles E. Stenner, Jr., commander, Air Force Reserve Command, the Combat Flight Instructor Course (CFIC) book in the 93rd Bomb Squadron facilities at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., on September 25, 2009. Since the 1950s, every instructor in the B-52s completing the course has signed the book. General Stenner traveled to Barksdale for a meeting with Lt. Gen. Frank Klotz, who is the commander of the Global Strike Command, now headquartered here. While on base, General Stenner also met with Col. Steven Basham, 2nd Bomb Wing, commander, toured the 47th Fighter Squadron facilities, the 93rd Bomb Squadron headquarters building and Hangar 1, where maintenance is accomplished on B-52 Stratofortresses for the 917th Wing.
