Transporting the Past: A Reunion Story
Master Sgt. Greg Steele, 47th Fighter Squadron, visual information specialist, and Susan d’Olive Mozena, daughter of 1st Lt. Charles R. D’Olive, a WWI Ace, read the account of how the “Indian Head” design for the 93rd Bomb Squadron was originally conceived, October, 10, 2009. Sergeant Steele traveled to Detroit, Mich., to gather photos and documents from Mrs. d’Olive Mozena concerning her father’s role in the history of the 93rd BS, which is part of the 917th Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base, La. The items will be used in historic displays at the 917th Wing headquarters building in the future. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Jeff Walston)
