Changes to the 917th Command Building: first of many for Barksdale
A civilian contractor works in the 917th Wing Headquarters building on the first of many construction projects planned on Barksdale Air Force Base, La. It is expected to be completed January 7, 2009. The construction, in support of both the expanded operations and mission of the installation and the Total Force Integration process, will provide a bigger and better testing facility for the standard evaluation office and general testing in the 917th WG. The testing site will be used by instructors for both the 93rd Bomb Squadron and 47th Fighter Squadron on Barksdale, which are now schoolhouses for both active duty and reserve pilots. The entire bill for the work to be done on the installation is more than 11 million dollars. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Crystal MK Jordan)
