917th Wing chills on Barksdale

Airman 1st Class Andrew Theis, an aircraft structural maintenance technician for the 917th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., snaps an icicle off of an A-10 Thunderbolt II static display in front of the 917th Headquarters here during his first Unit Training Assembly (UTA) weekend Jan. 9, 2010. Being welcomed to the 917th WG by 13 mph winds, Airman Theis began his training day by braving the 15-degree freeze. Barksdale spent most of the weekend in teen-degree temperatures after a hard freeze warning was issued for most of the Southern United States.
