Drag racers promote safety
Master Sgt. Charles Griffith, assistant chief of education and training for the 917th Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., who is sporting a Sherriff’s tee shirt, participates in the game “Pass Time,” where participants go against the house and try to guess the times of race cars going down a track Oct. 11, 2008. The winner receives $2000.00. Sergeant Griffith missed winning by less than half of a second. Pass Time is the number two rated show from the internationally syndicated Speedtv. Sergeant Griffith, who is a former Shreveport, Louisiana, Police Officer, has been a volunteer at Beat the Heat since May 2003. BTH is a "Cops and Kids" program designed to break down the barriers between young people and the Police and give both groups the chance to interact with each other in a positive manner.
