Safety can be fun

Jason Cohee, (left) an aircraft structural repair technician for the 917th Maintenance Squadron at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., receives a safety recognition award from Harry Bauer, 917th Wing, ground safety chief, for being the first to complete a crossword puzzle about Material Safety Data Sheets. The 917th Wing safety office recently implemented a campaign to promote on and off duty safety awareness. This is accomplished by the use of positive reinforcement topics selected concerning safety issues including Confined Spaces, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Hazardous Energy Control (LOTO-Lockout/Tagout). The topics are forwarded to unit commanders and unit safety representatives for distribution. Responses can be submitted by 917 Wing and 307th Red Horse Squadron personnel (except for safety representatives) to the 917 Wing Safety Office. (U.S. Air Force illustration/Master Sgt. John Day)
