Global Strike Challenge wraps up
Technical Sgt. Daniel Zamora, team leader, 917th Security Forces Squadron tactics team, contacts members of his unit during a firefight at a Firing and Tactics Event at Camp Minden in Louisiana, Nov. 13, 2010. The event was part of the first-ever Global Strike Challenge, which wrapped up at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Nov. 17, 2010. A six-man team from the 917th SFS competed in the event against other teams from numerous bases involved in the competition. The Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System or MILES, which uses lasers and blank cartridges to simulate actual battle, was used for the event to identify the Airmen who were killed. This system is used by the U.S. military and other armed forces around the world for training purposes. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Jeff Walston)
