Road trip through history
A small group of deer make their way across a parking lot near the Cadet Chapel to the safety of a wooded area at the US Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., Nov. 19, 2010. USAFA is the youngest of the five United States service academies, graduating its first class in 1959. The campus covers more than 18,000 acres on the east side of the Rampart Range of the Rocky Mountains. The Cadet Chapel, with its accordion-like design, is acknowledged as an iconic symbol of the academy campus.
