917th Wing announces 2010 Airmen of the Year
Master Sgt. Danny K. Fischer, production supervisor, 917th Maintenance Squadron, was selected as the 917th Wing’s 2010 Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year at Barksdale Air Force Base, La. Sergeant Fischer is the last to be awarded this title as the 917th Wing, since the wing was deactivated Jan. 1, 2011. During the same ceremonies, the 917th Operations Group was re-designated as the 917th Fighter Group and the historic 307th Bomb Wing was reactivated. He is now assigned to the 307th Maintenance Squadron. Sergeant Fischer will officially be recognized for this honor during ceremonies schedule for March 6, 2011, at Barksdale.
