Overturf addresses newcomers

Col. Eric Overturf, the commander of the 442nd Fighter Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., addresses a group of "newcomers" at the 307th Bomb Wing headquarters building during the Unit Training Assembly weekend Jan. 7, 2012. Overturf was at Barksdale visiting the 917th Fighter Group, which is a geographically separate unit (GSU) under the command structure of the 442nd FW. The Reserve "newcomers" included new recruits to the Air Force as well as prior-service individuals returning to military service or transferring from other units across the country.
