Local school receives national recognition

James was working on a journalistic series about the Claiborne Fundamental Elementary School being selected as a 2012 National Blue Ribbon School by the Department of Education. The Department will honor approximately 219 public and 50 private schools at a recognition ceremony on Nov. 12-13 in Washington, D.C. The Claiborne students are attending STARBASE Louisiana, at Barksdale, one of 60 national STARBASE sites. It is sponsored by the 307th BW of the Air Force Reserve Command.
