917 FG prepares for inactivation
Airmen from the 917th Fighter Group watch as the last of three A-10 Thunderbolt II jet aircraft take off from Barksdale Air Force Base, La., April 8, 2013. The jets, which are assigned to the 917th Fighter Group, left the Barksdale runway for the last time. The 917th FG is scheduled to be inactivated by the end of September 2013. The aircraft and personnel assigned to the 917th FG are being relocated to different bases and locations.
