917 FG prepares for inactivation
Scott Pace, who is a photojournalist for KSLA News 12, Shreveport, La., scrambles to replace a piece of equipment after the signal was lost one and a half minutes before a schedule live broadcast from Barksdale Air Force Base, La., April 8, 2013. A team from KSLA was at the A-10 Thunderbolt static display in front of the 307th Bomb Wing Headquarters’ building to report on the scheduled inactivation of the 917th Fighter Group at the end of September 2013. The aircraft and personnel assigned to the 917th FG are being relocated to different bases and locations. The inactivation will affect more than 500 Airmen at Barksdale and have a projected 40 million dollar impact on the local economy. (U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt. Jeff Walston/Released)
