History lands at Barksdale
The B-17G Flying Fortress named “Texas Raiders” lands at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., May 3, 2013. Piloted by Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Col. Pat Elliott, the World War II heavy bomber was part of the “B-17 75th Anniversary Legacy Mission celebrating Barksdale’s bomber heritage.” The aircraft’s co-pilot was CAF Col. Len Root.
