History lands at Barksdale
The ball turret under the B-17G Flying Fortress named “Texas Raiders” sitting on the ramp of Barksdale Air Force Base, La., May 3, 2013. The World War II heavy bomber visited Barksdale as a part of the “B-17 75th Anniversary Legacy Mission celebrating Barksdale’s bomber heritage.” More than 200 people came out to look at the aircraft and learn about its history.
