STARBASE students tour a B-52 Stratofortress

U.S. Air Force Capt. Jeff Vanderhyde, who is an instructor radar at the 93rd Bomb Squadron’s Formal Training Unit, answers questions about the B-52 Stratofortress from a group of STARBASE students at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., May 14, 2013. The local 5th Grade students are attending STARBASE Louisiana, at Barksdale, one of 70 national STARBASE sites. The program is sponsored by the 307th Bomb Wing of the Air Force Reserve Command. STARBASE presents an exciting 25-hour hands-on minds-on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) curriculum to area 5th grade students and their teachers.
