STARBASE 2.0 celebrates pilot year

Slot cars designed and manufactured by 8th grade students who are participating in STARBASE 2.0 after school Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) program sit on display during a celebration at Cope Middle School in Bossier City, La., May 14, 2013. STARBASE 2.0 is being piloted this year by STARBASE Louisiana and Cope Middle School. The program is designed to carry on the mission of the STARBASE 5th grade academy and keep students interested in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics during the crucial middle school years.
