Reserve Citizen Airmen and local civic leaders welcomed Ricky Rogers as the new 307th Force Support Squadron honorary commander during an induction ceremony here, May 6, 2023.

Rogers has been East Ridge Country Club’s general manager for more than 15 years. He also serves as the chief operating officer for Pierremont Oaks Tennis Club and David Toms 265 Golf Academy.

U.S. Air Force Maj. Julia Bean, 307th FSS commander, said she chose Rogers for his leadership abilities in business and for his civic engagement in  the Shreveport-Bossier City community.

“After getting to know Ricky for the past four years, it is clear he is the perfect match for the 307th FSS,” said Bean. “It is truly amazing to see how happy his staff is, and that is because of the environment he has fostered.”

Rogers commitment to civic leadership includes serving on the board of directors for the Better Business Bureau and he is also a member of the Shreveport-Bossier Executive Association.

Rogers also continues to donate time to area schools and employs high school students, providing mentorship to develop future leaders of business.

During his induction speech, Rogers expressed enthusiasm in sharing his new role with the civilian community he serves.

“I look forward to sharing the information I’ve learned with people in our community so they will know and respect Barksdale for its tremendous impact on the Shreveport-Bossier area,” he said.

The honorary commander program is an official Air Force program designed to create opportunities to educate the public on mission, programs, and policies of the United States Air Force and the Department of Defense.
