A new professional organization has risen at the 307th Bomb Wing to boost morale, provide mentorship, and develop leadership opportunities among the junior enlisted force.

The 307th Bomb Wing Rising Six is a venue for Airmen ranked E-1 through E-6 to discuss their experiences in the Air Force. The group meets monthly during the regularly schedule UTA to discuss volunteer, leadership and professional development opportunities. Members also discuss challenges in the workplace and brainstorm ways to fix them.

Staff Sgt. Bryce Johnsen, an aircraft structural maintenance technician assigned to the 707th Maintenance Squadron, is the newly elected Rising Six president. Johnsen believes that focusing on this ethos will help promote a positive work environment for junior enlisted Airmen.

“We can bring in different resources and advice on how to go about their goals and create connections to help them network and meet more people,” Johnsen said. “That trickles down to the morale piece where they are making more friends and hopefully making Barksdale a little more appealing to people and having more fun here.”

Others elected to represent the organization in leadership positions include:

Vice President- Staff Sgt. Kessa King, 307th Maintenance Squadron

Secretary- Senior Airman Celeste Zuniga, 307th Bomb Wing Staff

Treasurer/Marketing- Senior Airman Kate Bragg, 307th Bomb Wing Staff

All E-1 through E-6 Airmen are encouraged and welcome to be part of the Rising Six. For more information on meeting times and locations, contact the 307th Bomb Wing Public Affairs office at 318-529-3025.
