The 307th Medical Squadron welcomed a new commander, Lt. Col. Daniel McPherson, during a change of command ceremony held Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Hoban Hall, here.

The Louisiana State University grad earned a direct commission in 2006. McPherson has served as commander for the 307th Dental flight for the past 14 years and is the owner of a general dentistry practice in Shreveport.

Col. David Anderson, 307th Bomb Wing commander, praised McPherson’s personal and professional accomplishments and welcomed him into his new role.

“For those of you having the opportunity to continue working with him, congratulations for having a fantastic commander,” said Anderson. “For those of you new to working with him, you’re in for a treat.”

In his first address to the 307th Medical Squadron, McPherson emphasized his pride in American healthcare workers and the challenges they overcome to help others.

“I love the concept of the Reserves,” said McPherson. “Our individual talents that we perform everyday all-day come together to serve the Air Force.”

McPherson took the reins from the outgoing commander, Colonel Dennis Britten.

“I think the 307th Medical Squadron provides some of the most talented healthcare professionals in all of the world,” said McPherson. “And I love it.”
