U.S. Air Force Col. Steven Kirkpatrick, 307th Bomb Wing commander, issued updated COVID-19 guidance for all unit members here today.  Below is the full text of the email.

307th Bomb Wing Airmen,

As we continue to keep our families and those around us safe in the ever changing fight against COVID-19, we must again adjust the way we conduct business to stay vigilant and smart.  Due to the recent spike in cases, the installation commander has ordered Barksdale into HPCON BRAVO+.  Consequently, the following precautions have been set in place for all base personnel:

  • Effective immediately, the wear of face masks are mandatory in all base facilities.  The only exception is when conducting work at your work station with no one else present within 6 feet.
  • Mandatory wear of face coverings on Barksdale AFB while attending outdoor functions when social distancing (6 feet) cannot be maintained. (Recommended off base in public facilities as well).
  • Bars and entertainment clubs are recommended as off-limits.
  • It is recommended you immediately cease indoor dining off-base.  Outdoor dining and takeout/delivery is acceptable.

This guidance is in effect immediately.  More information, to include guidance on official travel (PCS, TDY), Restriction of Movement (ROM), and leave will follow.

With our July UTA quickly approaching, please contact your supervisor to reschedule if you feel you should not travel to the area.

I have a Commander’s Call planned for Sunday morning, July 12th at 7:30 a.m., on the north side of the AGE Hangar. See you all there with masks donned.

Remember taking care of our airmen/families and being mission ready are our priorities. We have shown flexibility from the beginning and will all get through this together. Continue to watch over yourself, your families and your coworkers.
