Rear Adm. Ret. Robert J. Bianchi, Defense Commissary Agency interim director and chief executive officer, issued new guidance for commissaries regarding face masks during the COVID-19 virus.

Effective 10 April, all DeCA employees and patrons must wear a face covering when entering, working or shopping in any DeCA commissaries or facilities.  This applies to all stores, CDC's, etc. If an installation commander has already issued a directive to require face coverings in DeCA commissaries, this order shall not supersede their policy, and all patrons and employees shall adhere to current rules.  This 10 April requirement applies where no local guidance has yet to be promulgated.

This action is for the protection of employees and patrons.
