93 BS Groundbreaking
Col. Ozzie Gorbitz, 917th Operations Group commander, Navy Lt. Scott Gustin, Navy resident officer in charge of construction, Sandino Thompson, Sauer Construction project manager, Lt. Col. Tim Mers, 93rd Bomb Squadron chief B-52 navigator, Col. Daniel Charchian, 2nd Bomb Wing commander, and Brig. Gen. (S) Bob Tarter, 917th Wing commander, break ground for the new 93rd Operations building Thursday, June 29. The new 20,293 square-foot building will house mission planning, command offices, aircrew life support and training, an aircrew lounge, toilet and shower facilities, multiple briefing rooms, a 100-seat auditorium and a 112-car parking area.
