A touchdown pass to Kentrill Rhodes in the last seconds of the game was not enough to shield the "young and inexperienced" from a 22-36 loss against the "older, more experienced."

It was a battle of wits, playing ability and sheer stamina when 917th Security Forces Squadron technical sergeants and above battled the staff sergeants and below in the annual squadron flag football match-up.

The game, split into two 20-minute halves, began with the "seniors" having possession of the ball. Quarterback Mark Traynham throws a pass to Doug Smith, who catches it for an advancement of 10 yards.

The ball is passed to Brad Grimmett, who crosses the line into the end zone for a touchdown. The score is 6-0. The "juniors" have possession of the ball.

A pass is intercepted by Doug Smith, who then passes it to Brad Grimmett for another touchdown. The score is 12-0.

The "juniors" get a third down when a flag is pulled on Christopher Cabibi. Score remains 12-0.

Kentrill Rhodes is on fire at this point after taking the ball out of bounds, only short of a touchdown. This is followed by another powerful run by Rhodes, advancing his team 20-yards. He is stopped by Charles Parker, and the play is ended.

The ball hits the ground, it's declared dead, and possession returns to the "seniors." Mark Traynham throws a pass. Pass is complete, and Charles Parker brings it into the end zone for another touchdown. Score is 18-0 "seniors."

Half time brings new life to the "junior" members, who up to this point have been pulverized by their "senior" counterparts.

Kentrill Rhodes catches a pass from Troderick Trotter, who joins the game during the second half to advance five yards. "Could the game be turning around?", the crowd asks.

Mark Traynham runs for yet another touchdown, but gets stopped dead in his tracks at the 22-yard line by none other than Troderick Trotter. This is followed by an incomplete pass to Joshua Feliciano, and yet another touchdown by Charles Parker to bring the score (incl. a 10-yard pass for two points) to 26-0, "seniors."

Christopher Cabibi throws a complete pass to Kentrill Rhodes, but a flag is pulled by Mark Traynham, and play is stopped at the 24-yard line.

Cabibi throws a complete pass to Joshua Feliciano, who brings it in for the "junior's" first touchdown. Score is 26-6 with 15 minutes left in the game.

A touchdown by "Senior" Doug Smith brings the score to 32-6. A 10-yard pass from Mark Traynham to Chuck Parker brings the score to 34-6, "seniors."

A complete pass to Kentrill Rhodes sends a gasp through the crowd as Rhodes nears the end zone. He is stopped at the five-yard line. Score remains 34-6.

Christopher Cabibi comes through for the "junior" ranks and scores the second touchdown for his team, bringing the score to 36-14.

Play continues, as the clock runs down--10, 9, 8, 7, and in the final moments of the game, the "juniors" pull out a final touchdown by Kentrill Rhodes and a complete pass from Cabibi to Trotter for a final score of 36-22.
