Walking in to the 917th Wing's education office on Barksdale Air Force Base, La., one is greeted by a cheerful hello.

After being asked to sit down, Ms. Rebecca McCrary, an education and training specialist for the 917th Wing, sits ready and willing to answer any and all questions about tuition assistance and education benefits for current and veteran military members. If she can't find the answers, she is ready and willing to point you in the right direction to get them.

For many years, McCrary could be found right inside of room 152 in the 917th Wing Headquarters along with the training office. Now, however, those who wish to speak with the education guru must travel just a little further.

Still housed in the 917th Headquarters, McCrary can be found in room 124, on the opposite end of the building.

"I'm really excited about this move," said McCrary. "Being here in my own office allows me to counsel my customers without being interrupted."

"I try to give my customers personalized guidance during their counseling with me and being here, in my own office, allows me to do that," she added.

"I think this move will benefit both sides of the house," said McCrary, when speaking of the advantages that both the education and training offices would receive.

"We have plans to expand parts of the office to be used as a training area. Brochures and flyers for various schools and education benefits can now be displayed as well."

Although the scenery has changed, there is no change to the excellent service and care which veterans and servicemembers of the 917th Wing receive from the education office
