An aircrew with the 93rd BS flew their B-52 Stratofortress on their daily training missions under the call signs of SAINT 14 and SAINT 15 that day. With the majority of the squadron's crew members living in the Shreveport-Bossier area and making Louisiana their home, they were eager to congratulate the team on their first Super Bowl win. Each crew flew their six-hour and over 2000-mile sortie proudly answering to each air traffic controller with their new call sign of saint, said Lt. Col. Joe Jones, commander of the 93rd BS. Recently, the 93rd BS assumed the responsibility for training B-52 aircrews in along with the 2nd Bomb Wing's 11th Bomb Squadron on Barksdale. The 93rd BS, which is a Reserve Unit, operates 20 B-52 Stratofortresses on the base.
