Barksdale Air Force Base, La. -- Dennis Dollar, a member of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), presented Sharon Nelson, a supervisor at the Louisiana State University Health Service Center in Monroe, La., with an ESGR Patriot award on March 3.

Nelson earned the award by being nominated by Lt. Col. Corine M. Barral-Sutton, a surgical nurse with the 917th Medical Squadron on Barksdale Air Force Base, La.

Employers throughout the nation, solely by nomination, earn this award by supporting their employees who are attached to Reserve and Guard units of the United States Armed Forces.

The ESGR gains and maintains employer support for Guard and Reserve servicemembers by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the law and resolving conflicts through mediation.
