Recently-deployed men and women of the 917th Wing on Barksdale Air Force Base, La., along with their families, are scheduled to participate in a Purple-Yellow Ribbon Reintegration event at the American Airlines Training and Conference Center in Ft. Worth, Texas, March 19 through 21.

As a purple event, the weekend will host servicemembers and their families from every military branch.

The National Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program (YRRP) is a free Department of Defense program designed to provide support for military members and their families who are preparing to deploy, are deployed, or who have recently returned from a deployment.

This service aids members and their families with many different aspects of a loved one's deployment and return.

Forms, appointments and checklists partnered with personal transition and reintegration into the family make for a stressful and sometimes overwhelming process.

This process, however, is eased through the YRRP. Financial and career counselors, chaplains and military family and life counselors are scheduled to attend the event.
