HRDC takes care of the people Published July 22, 2010 By Master Sgt. Mary Hinson 917th Wing Public Affairs Office Barksdale AFB, La. -- People are the most important asset to any organization, and taking care of them is key to the success of the mission. The Human Resources Development Council is designed to advise and make recommendations to the commander on all matters pertaining to the people of the unit. The goal of the council is to create and maintain a fully developed, skilled, motivated, enthusiastic, and diverse workforce. Most people think of demographics when they hear the word diversity but there is so much more. Diversity is about recognizing, embracing, and utilizing the differences of the people in an organization to better accomplish the mission. The council also works with other organizations on issues such as retention, community outreach, promotions and any other personnel issues. Since its inception in 1992, the Reserve HRDC has evolved into an organization that impacts every aspect of the career progression of Reserve personnel. The council continues to make strides in improving the diversity of the Air Force Reserve. For more information or if you are interested in becoming a member, contact 917th Wing EO Office.
