After 34 years of faithful service to her country, Carole Little, a budget analyst for the 307th Bomb Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., will call it quits at the end of February and start a much deserve retirement.

Mrs. Little started her career in the Regular Air Force years ago and chose to join the Air Force Reserve after her discharge. She has held positions as the senior ART of Det 2, 11th Contingency Hospital here, as well as one of the original cost per flying hour analysts for the 917th Maintenance Group after Air Force Reserve Command decentralized flying hour funding to unit equipped wings.

In April 2005, Mrs. Little began working as an Operations and Management analyst at the 917th Wing.

"For years, Carole has been the 'go to' person for all things flying hour funding related," said Taryn Montgomery, budget officer, 307th Bomb Wing. "She fields calls from headquarters on a regular basis."

Originally from Pennsylvania, Mrs. Little has plans to relocate to the land of sand and sun in Florida, where she plans to bask in her retirement with her husband John. A talented artist in a variety of mediums, Mrs. Little plans to spend much of her free time painting and handcrafting elaborate bows.

And while she is enjoying her time off work, those she leaves behind in the 307th BW Financial Management office will be thinking about her.

"It's hard to say goodbye to a co-worker and friend," said Montgomery. "Carole's expertise, knowledge and dedication to the financial mission of this Wing will be sorely missed."
