307th BW: In the spotlight

The 307th Bomb Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., was spotlighted recently when Jenna Zibton, anchor/reporter for NBC affiliate KTAL News Channel 6 in Shreveport, La., interviewed Col. Keith Schultz and Ms. Jennifer Wyly at the KTAL studio May 19, 2011.

Colonel Schultz, commander, 307th Operations Group, joined Ms. Wyly to discuss the Bossier Chamber of Commerce's "Military Speaker Luncheon" scheduled for Thursday, June 9 at Ralph & Kacoo's. Ms. Wyly is the communications director/military relations professional for the Bossier Chamber.

The luncheon, which is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will bring together several military leaders from Barksdale to discuss the future of Barksdale and Bossier City. Colonel Schultz is scheduled to speak at the luncheon on behalf of the 307th BW.

Attendees will learn about major happenings taking place at Barksdale Air Force Base, in order to better understand the mission and gain insight on the day-to-day operations for the 307th BW, Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC), 8th Air Force and 2nd Bomb Wing.

Also schedule to speak at the luncheon, are Jeffrey Beene (Retired), director of staff, AFGSC, Col. Andy Thomson, chief of staff, 8th AF, and Col. Timothy Fay, commander, 2nd BW.

Cost to attend is $20 for Bossier Chamber members and $30 general admission with lunch provided. All attendees must RSVP no later than June 7th at 5 p.m. and space is limited.
