Barksdale Air Force Base will host the Barksdale Warrior Community Expo 2013, April 12, from 10a.m. to 4p.m., at Hoban Hall.

The first Barksdale Warrior Community Expo was held last year, and it was considered by organizers to be a success. With an estimated 220 exhibitors scheduled for the 2013 event, it will be the largest gathering of community organizations within the Ark-La-Tex area.

Attendance is free and open to all DoD, dependents, and their guests.

The expo will benefit anyone wanting to join a community club, or wanting to find out what's happening in the local area. Those who are preparing for college or seeking assistance from helping agencies will also benefit from the exhibitors scheduled to be in attendance.

"The times are changing and if anyone thinks they can achieve success alone then failure will be their shadow. Almost every story you hear about where someone achieved success had someone else as an outside helping-hand somewhere in the storyline," said Tony Flowers, who is the general manger of the Barksdale Club. "The Expo is your chance to seek expert advice, help and/or get a clear direction on what could set the foundation for your success to build upon."

There will also be exhibitors for those who may be seeking employment opportunities, or part-time jobs for the summer.

Some of the exhibitors scheduled to be at the expo are: Shreveport-Bossier Convention & Tourist Bureau, Girl Scouts Louisiana Pines to the Gulf, Louisiana's Science Center, Louisiana Workforce Commission, Health and Wellness Center, Airman & Family Readiness, Health Care Integrator-Health Coaching/Special Needs Coordinator, Educational Opportunity Centers, Suicide Prevention Program, Air Force Sergeants Association (AFSA), Air Force Association, Susan G. Komen, Family Advocacy, Caddo Parish Public Schools, Shreveport Veterans Center, Red River National Wildlife Refuge, Health Benefits Advisor (TOPA), just to name a few.

No federal endorsement of exhibitors is intended.
