Lieutenant Colonel Michael Minamyer, Sr.

Lt. Col. Michael Minamyer, Sr. is the commander of the 307th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. He oversees flight line maintenance of 21 B-52H Stratofortress bombers in support of the 93rd Bomb Squadron’s Formal Training Unit and conventional flying missions, and the active-duty 49th Test and Evaluation Squadron and 340th Weapons School. Lt. Col. Minamyer directs the daily maintenance operation requirements and ensures that maintenance personnel inspect and maintain avionics, hydraulics, jet engines, electronics, armament, tooling, and general airframe systems.  He oversees servicing, ground handling, weapons loading, and sortie launch and recovery actions.

Lt. Col. Minamyer enlisted in the Air Force April 1996. He completed Tactical Aircraft Maintenance School at Sheppard AFB, Texas before being assigned to the 357th Fighter Squadron as an A-10 Thunderbolt Crew Chief at Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona. He earned his commission in December 2005, as a flight navigator. He remained on active-duty until transitioning to the Air Force Reserve in 2014. Lt. Col. Minamyer was assigned to the 93rd Bomb Squadron, most recently serving as its Director of Operations prior to his current assignment.

Lt. Col. Minamyer has served as a B-52 Weapons Systems Officer instructor and is a Master Combat Systems Officer with more than 3,000 flying hours in the platform.
